Unit 1: 8th Grade Math

Well hello there! :) Did you think I was gone forever? My last post was August 11th and on August 12th we started staff development. It's been a whirlwind ever since! I had wonderful intentions about posting last weekend on Labor Day, but the Mr. got sick :(
Here are my pages so far this year for 8th grade math. We've started with transformations...

On most days students did some sort of investigation with their teams, then we filled out the left side, then they practiced on the right side getting help from me and their teammates as needed.
How have you taught transformations so far this year? I'd love to see and hear some ideas!!

    I'm actually teaching transformations this upcoming week. I was messing around on Pinterest and I scored! Yay, me! Thank you for these! I bought something similar on TPT b ut it takes up too many pages. We have strict copy limits!

    How did you attach the transparency to the paper on the rotations page? I love these! I'm actually previewing this content after our state testing in 7th grade to give them a "head start" in 8th grade!

    I am using this next week when I do transformations! I had a couple of questions though, do you have them tape or glue their stuff onto the paper and then go through and teach the lesson or do they tape/glue as you go?

    What kind of practice/activity did you do after you taught the lessons? I'm wanting to do a fun thing with this after we get done learning it.

    These are amazing! Just one question...on the Dilations pages the middle example of the second part, what did you use this one for? Triangle ABC in quadrant IV, just trying to get an idea of what dilation to use - enlargement or reduction. Thanks :)
